Today is the Solemnity of the Ascension. The monks will do no work today. Since it has been a discussion in certain quarters of our larger Lay Cistercian's of Gethsemani being one large community that extends outwards from the monastery, and not just local splinter cells(?) if I understand it right, then in that spirit, there will be no rule today.
Yet, "I will not leave your comfortless," so I will include The Rule as a link, and the Old Style Breviary and all it's pre Renaissance art. And because I am still the Mad, Catholic, Liberal; Universalis, but today I link you to the Mass Readings. Remember, it's a Holy Day of Obligation.
